The totally ubiquitous workhorse of the German armed forces was used in every theater by every branch for the duration of the war.  The variant shown here is for cargo and personnel, but it was also utilized as an ambulance, tanker, repair wagon and command vehicle.  The Opel Blitz was a rear wheel drive vehicle with a dry single-plate clutch.  It had five forward gears and one reverse.
